What these agent files are for
Each file answers a different reader. The tools on this site only rearrange the text you paste. They do not call a model and they do not store the paste.
| File | Use | Tool |
|---|---|---|
| AGENTS.md | Shared project instructions at the repo root. | Open |
| Cursor rules | Rules you already wrote for Cursor, including .cursorrules. | Open |
| CLAUDE.md | Project instructions Claude Code reads. | Open |
| SKILL.md | One skill: when to use it, the steps, and the inputs and outputs. | Open |
| Modelfile | Ollama file with FROM, SYSTEM, and PARAMETER. | Open |
AGENTS.md is the file you keep next to the code so a coding agent sees the overview, the conventions, the folder limits, and the test command.
CLAUDE.md is narrower. It tells Claude Code the role, the goal, the constraints, which tools it may use, and the writing style.
SKILL.md describes one job. The name and description say what it is. The steps say how to do it. Inputs, outputs, and examples make the job checkable.
An Ollama Modelfile creates a local model variant. FROM picks the base model, SYSTEM holds the prompt, and PARAMETER temperature sets how freely the model answers.
Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Open a tool, paste text, and copy or download the file.
Can one paste make more than one file?
Yes. Change the output menu on any tool page. The same source can become AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, SKILL.md, or a Modelfile.
